One of my foremost goals in preparing for emergencies is security of my retreat location. Being one of only three permanent members of the retreat, I cannot be everything and all things at once. I technically need as much assistance as I can muster up when it comes to security matters.
A lofty fence is nice to have, but then I have to deal appropriately with those people who think I have something to hide. They can be just friendly curiosity seekers or someone who wishes to do my family and I harm. Either way the tall fence appears to be out of place.

I like to think "nature" when I plan for security. A deep hedge is always a nice attractive addition and it doesn't seem to bring unusual glances in my direction. Evergreen trees when placed at strategic locations on the property can do wonders towards preventing unwanted guests from coming in.
